Distributed Generation (DG) is the model of producing electricity at or near the place of consumption, whether in homes, companies or industries.
Its origin comes from renewable sources. For example, solar, wind, biogas or even small hydroelectric plants.
The electricity is connected directly to the public distribution network and therefore does not require long-distance transmission lines.
